Bike Buddies At Last Year’s Bike Tour,

The Oregon Bike Ride

Well, this was a sad week. My aunt and godmother (tante) Celita passed away back in Venezuela. She was the last sibling of my parents. As such this mark’s the end of an era. The last time I saw her was about 23 yrs ago.

I am no longer at the RV resort in Morgan Hill CA, that means no more nightly spa enjoyment. I am back in Santa Clara CA, that is about 2 miles from the address where I lived for about 17 yrs. I am at the Aloha RV Trailer Park. Today this is an old little dive, with about 40 very close RV sites. No pool no spa. It is surrounded on 2 sides by new condominiums. The owner of this park is hanging on a very expensive piece of real state. Everything works at the RV trailer park, but it has no WIFI so, will have to scoot to a coffee shop for internet access and hot chocolate, once or twice a day. Fortunately, there are lots of places within 5 miles. Will Stay here about a week.

Feels good to be in my old stumping grounds near my friends (adopted family). Tomorrow will meet an do about a 40 mi bike ride. The weather should be great, there will be Vickie, Scott, Cindy, Sandra, Elaine, me and probably 3 or 4 others. Yesterday, our dear friend Sean Wright, came down from Detroit for work an a visit with us. Sean was the one that brought us the “bike buddies” together, and got some of us into cycling “centuries” (100 miles) and yearly doing, week long biking tours. And now we have been doing bike tours for 15 yrs.

Still digitizing old family photos, restoring, and making progress on building a website for the family genealogy.

Last sunday decided to watch the Super Bowl. It is not normal for me to watch football, but the RV resort was making it a party, beer, margaritas and hotdogs. Made an observation at the party, it seems that as far as a retired person, am just a youngster. Most RV'rs are retired and seem to be 10 to 15 yrs older. Furthermore, quite a few bike but to them a 5 to 10 miles is a bike ride. Hmm, will have to do something with this observation.
