... Caves Are Pretty Amazing

Tuesday, June 24, 2008

Las Cruces, Texas, from a plateau where the RV park is located, just outside of Las Cruces. It is very green and there is lots farming. Likely because of the Rio Grande river, and grande it is. The mountains cause weather, short violent rain to be specific, sometimes lots of lightning.

Today am in San Antonio TX.

Southwest Texas along Interstate 10, are green rolling hills for 100’s of miles. For being near the end June, it is very green, greener than the Bay Area for this time of the year.

Left Tucson AZ, overnighted outside of Las Cruces NM. Past thru El Paso TX, and overnighted outside of Ft Stockton TX. Toured the Caverns of Sonora TX, and overnighted at the RV park at the caverns. Then arrived in San Antonio TX.

San Antonio TX, is 1700 miles into my trip to Florida, about halfway. All is well, but gas prices are mean.

Caverns of Sonora, these caves are pretty amazing. Did about a 2 mile tour of the cave. The Colossal cave in AZ is static, but the Cave of Sonora is considered a living cave. That means that the formations inside are still forming, and water is the builder.
