... and the mosquitos

This is the beach where I used to hangout in the High School days. The boardwalk was paved then, and there was no night life ambience as there is today. Florida beaches are very, very nice.
Been here in south Florida for a week, what have I done? Hangout with sis Dorothy and her family every couple of days, cruise around on the scooter getting familiar with the area, been watching “The Tour” everyday, done a couple of bike rides, tomorrow morning will ride again. Maybe will ride with local bike groups, though they seem to ride pretty fast, 18 to 20 mph. I will not be able to keep up with them long. Am badly out of shape.
South Florida is a great place, even in the summer, except for the high humidity, almost daily afternoon rains, and the “mosquitos”. The best is near or at the beach. There the humidity seems lower and no mosquitos. Tried walking in the the park one evening, and two minutes into the walk, got about 20 mosquito bites. Will save evening walks for the boardwalk at the beach.
Captain Morgan has a Bigfoot? ... Not, no babe sitting on that leg.
Cruised on the scooter to Ft Lauderdale beach, that looks just as it did way back when. OK, some changes, lots of new very large hotels across the street from the beach. Florida beaches are a vacationer’s paradise. I guess it was like that 40 yrs ago, but seems more intense now.
Some stats: I left Mt View CA on or about May 20th. And today in south Florida, Jul 18th is about 2 month. I spent $2100 on gasoline, approximately $100 was for cruising on the scooter, drove 3500 miles on the RV, 1800 miles on the scooter, and spent $1200 in RV park fees. This accounts for about 40% of this planned trip.
