Creatures encountered while hiking in Kolob National Park in Utah.
We left Yellowstone NP, Wyoming, on Sep 20th, drove south for 378 miles to Salt Lake City, Utah and overnighted at a KOA there. Originally we were to stop/overnight in Idaho Falls, Idaho, but we decided that it might be nice to gain a day for more time exploring Bryce and Zion NPs. We left Salt Lake City Sep 21 and arrived at a KOA in Glendale, Utah, that was a 312 mile drive. Glendale is halfway between Bryce and Zion, about 50 miles to each. But don’t expect much in Glendale, UT, it is very small. There is an RV park in town and it has WiFi, wish I stayed there.
In Bryce we hiked down into the canyon, you can make out the trails in the above map. Bryce is a photographers paradise. Click Here for more info.
People, if you are to visit a National Park, choose Bryce NP in Utah, you will not be disappointed. As you will see in the photos it is just awesome. And the hiking was great. Of course Zion NP is nearby, so you should visit that NP also.
Between Nancy and me, we took 1886 photos in this 2 week adventure, WOW !! Many of our photos are almost duplicates. Me, I took photos with my camera, and some with my Iphone, since the iphone records the GPS coordinates with every photo. Recording the GPS coordinates with a photo allows you to place your photos by location on a Google Map. I will do that later for some photos.
While in the neighborhood we also visited little known Cedar Breaks National Monument and Kolob National Park. Both are close to Bryce and Zion in Utah. But that is for the next blog.
