Overview of the locations of the 3 National Parks and the National Monument that we visited in Southern Utah.
After hiking in Bryce and Zion National Parks, we left on Sep 24th, heading to Cedar City, Utah. Before going to Glendale UT, we stopped in Cedar City UT to rent a car. So we had to go back to return the car. On the way back to Cedar City, we took a detoured along the way and did some hiking in Cedar Breaks National Monument. This N Monument does not appear to get many visitors, it is at high altitude, around 10,000 ft, and is not as vast as Bryce and Zion. But it is impressive at a much smaller scale. We stayed in Cedar City, Utah, for 2 nights. On Sep 25th, we went to Kolob National Parks. We hiked there as it became our custom to do. Kolob NP is a like a miniature version of Zion NP, but you have to hike to see it that way. Click here for slideshow.
In Cedar City we stayed at the KOA there, nice place. In Cedar City we went out to dinner at a nice restaurant. Now, my friend Nancy’s mantra in Yellowstone was “where are the Moose and Elk?”, over and over. Well, at the restaurant I took these photos just for her. Yap, a trophy Moose and Elk.
To see photos of these creatures in their natural environments, since we could not find them in Yellowstone, I went to the internet. Click Here for someone else's photos.
Our last day on this Great Adventure we spent it in Las Vegas, Nevada, Sep 26th. Remember that in Idaho Falls, “A Great Start for any Trip”, we had dinner at an Outback Steakhouse; for me, “A Great End for any Trip”, is, yes, a dinner at an Outback. And we did that in Las Vegas. Now I hang out in Mission Bay San Diego till the end of Oct 09.
