Celebrating Birthdays ...

Monday, March 16, 2009

March birthdays came and went. As is our tradition, we celebrated with dinner and gifts. It was Jenna’s and Elaine’s birthday’s.

The BRB (Bike Riding Buddies) have changed how we will celebrate birthday from now going forward. I will be the first to implement the new birthday guidelines come June.

Here are some of the new guidelines:

The BRB Birthday Committee is happy to .....

Can I choose my own birthday restaurant?

Yes, you will.  From this day forward, the birthday boy or girl gets to choose where to go for dinner.  S/he can go for the big $$$, small $, Chinese, Indian or Italian…. it’s his or her choice.  So if Cindy wants to eat steak and potatoes every year then we will eat steak and potatoes.

Who will arrange my birthday celebration?

You will.  Every one of your buddies WANTS to celebrate with you!  So you pick the restaurant, the date and send the email.  You may wish to check in with your buddies first to confirm the date, but we will be there – promise!! And the cool thing about planning your own birthday party is you don’t have to pay for your meal! Your buddies will.  J

What about my birthday gift?

Your friends (who love you very much!!!) will shower you with birthday cards and good wishes.  If you’d really like a gift, then buy it. J

Don, a bike buddy asked in an e-mail that I should check out downtown Bakersfield, and let him know what it is like. I think this photo says it all, it is not much, Don.

I will be in Bakersfield for two weeks. Since am badly out of shape, and on my way to Death Valley, have chosen Bakersfield (half way there) to bike and speed walk every day. Bakersfield has great cycling weather this time of the year, and has a great bike path. By the time I get back to the Bay area, at the end of April, I should have a bit of the old physical condition back.
