The Desert Shows Its Colors

A panorama taken during a bicycle ride on the Bakersfield Kern River bike path. The bike path is on the left side of the canal. Two weeks ago this view was green, the dessert is showing its color.
The same bike path as above, but at a different location, about 20 miles west from above photo and into the city of Bakersfield. I biked the path about 4 to 5 times a week for the past 2 weeks. Tomorrow am off to Lake Isabella, about 50 milers east from Bakersfield. Don’t know if I’ll be able to bicycle there.
I visited Lake Isabella a couple times on the scooter. Not much there, There is only one main highway,1 lane per direction, and cars fly at 65 mph. When I get there, will explore some nearby mountain roads for cycling suitability. Otherwise it is likely a very, very quiet place, with not much to do. But I will explore.
On the left, my new prescription glasses, they turn dark with ultraviolet rays, and then become clear indoors. I noticed in the photo that my face is getting old, I think. Hmm, guess I am getting old. Such is life !!
