Everyone handles stuff in their life with the tools in their personality. What stuff ? for me, last March was diagnosed with prostrate cancer, it was caught very early. My approach was very swift, did a bunch of research on the internet, charted a course for treatment, and took it as mild annoyance like having a cold. Continue with life as usual; but did attended a couple of prostrate cancer support groups meetings.

Back then I decided I would not blog it. Just tell my siblings and my friends that I consider family. I have now completed the treatment that I chose, which was 38 external radiation sessions, at the rate of 5 days per week, the radiation sessions lasted about 10 min each, and should result in a complete prostrate cancer free condition with very high probability.

I was very fortunate, it was caught very early, and had no side effects from the radiation treatments other than mild discomfort while urinating. Also, was covered by my medical retirement plan. I am now on a monitor plan every 6 mo. for 5 years. At the prostrate cancer support meetings saw many others that were just like me; but, there were a handful of men with aggressive and/or more advance prostrate cancer conditions.

So why changed my mind and blog ? Having completed the treatment, and really getting back to life as usual, realized that I am slightly different. I am a “prostrate cancer survivor” and am infused with the desire to cary-on doing “life as usual” with more gusto/fun, happy go lucky attitude.

My living has been pretty darn good so far, to put more gusto/fun into it is going to be a challenge. Am ready to try, the RV is in for general service to be ready for a September road trip. The Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Brice, and Zion National Parks. Then down to San Diego area and hangout at/near the beach possibly till end of Nov. Probably visit Joshua Tree National Park which is relatively close to San Diego.

See the pattern, to celebrate I will visit several of our National Parksin the next few years. I like it, Cool, I credit my high school friend Linda Corcoran with this notion. Remember, last April (2009) I did Death Valley. Next year in Jun (2010), definitely the Grand Canyon, Colorado, and possibly Denaly National park in Alaska. There are about 54 National Parks, one down, 53 to go.

Grand Niece Ruby deserves her own photos.
