Grand Teton National Park

Hey People, am back from the “Great National Parks” adventure trip. I see in the news that there is a big fire in the Yellowstone National Park (NP). Apparently it started before I visited there, and now has grown and become a problem. Glad it did not have an impact on this adventure.
Our National Parks get lots of visitors, and if you camp at campgrounds and RV parks within the NPs, you will not have cell phone nor WiFi internet service. I now can inform you that having an internet connection is an addiction. 2 weeks with no internet access was disturbing. Am back, and will blog and provide photos on the various NPs that we experience.
By we, I mean my college friend Nancy and I. Have kept in contact with Nancy for about 30 years.
The first park we visited was the Grand Teton NP, in Wyoming. We arrived on Sep 13th and left on Sep 16th. Just about the right amount of time, “click here” for more info.
I recommend that if you plan to visit an NP, plan to do some hiking. We did, just for exercise and just plain fun, also get’s you away from traffic and lots of people. Visiting after Labor Day, the end of the summer season is a good idea, less crowded but there are still plenty of visitors.
In Grand Teton National Park we RV’ed at the Colter Bay Campground. That is the highest pin in the above map. The other pins are places we visited and took lots photos. The rouged mountains on the left above, are the Teton mountain range. Originally was going to connect photos to the above red pins; however, it would take a long time to do since I have hundreds of photos. Yes, will skip that at this time.
This map shows the same region as the earlier map; furthermore, it shows colored tracks were we hiked, lower left tracks, Jenny Lake, upper tracks hiking at Colter Bay, and the long blue track on the right is from a float trip down the Snake River, click here.

Just before entering Grand Teton NP, we stopped in Jackson, WY, to rent a car. One place wanted around $540 for a week, not including taxes and other fees. Nancy told them, “you are insane”. So we decided to tour with the RV. Fortunately, we found out that Grand Teton and Yellowstone are geared to handle visitors using their RV’s.
