Punta Cardon, Falcon, Venezuela, La Bomba Libertad en la vieja entrada al Campo Shell. I remember dad gassing up there many times, though I don't remember it being so fancy.
This blog is directed primarily to my Older siblings, and relatives that may have trekked in the old Campo Shell, from about 1955 and whatever it is today. So some of you may want to skip it.
Last week brother John in San Diego emailed us a map photo of where we grew up in Punta Cardon, Venezuela and of Aruba. I and the younger ones where born in Venezuela, and my 4 older siblings, where born in Aruba. That email reminded me of a project I was supposed to have done over a year ago. That is, to use Google Map, and find the places I remember in the small town of Campo Shell, where we lived till Oct 1962. Then we emigrated to the USA.
It may be better to use the following link than the map below, Click Here. In this link there is a button labeled “More”, click it, then click the photo button for more photos posted on the internet.
Click above photo for slide show of very old photos of Campo Shell. Some of the photos of course dad took them, you will know which they are, and the rest came from a photo album some one posted in Facebook. Click Here, if you have a FB account. You may wish to start from around photo #350 of 594, or from the beginning, who knows, maybe you may recognize/remember some people.
