Been in Las Vegas Almost a Week ...

The mighty Colorado River? No, no, it is the Las Vegas Wash. Apparently Las Vegas takes waste water, processes it, then releases it into the Las Vegas Wash for further natural filtering/cleaning. It is Impressive, the water is further cleaned by restoring a large wetland. Apparently plants and soil in wetlands are great at extracting chemicals/contaminants from water. This water eventually goes into Lake Mead (created by the Hoover Dam) and reused as Lake Mead provides water for many, many cities. Click here for more info, Click Here.
Been in Las Vegas almost a week, and have not yet been in a casino. Have spent lots of time hiking nearby, though have not taken many photos. I have discovered a wetland right here in Las Vegas, it is desert with a wetland, click here.
The photo does not do justice to this Wetland Park, it is vast and a great place to hike. I start my hikes from there because it is only about 4 miles from the RV resort. It is pretty flat hiking. At about 17 miles away there is Red Rock Canyon which is also a great place for hiking. Next week I will do some hiking there.
For some reason in the desert ant colonies create large mounds. This one was about 18 inches across.
One of my cousins in Venezuela asked me if I could colorize an old black and white photo. Of course I took the challenge. After a bunch of hours, It came out a lot better than I thought I could do. My cousin is in the lower row, second from the right, Jose Angel Gomez Aldama.
