Their Own Private Lake, No Golf Course
Sunday, May 16, 2010
Was off hiking in the desert, on a dirt trail in Indio CA, and ran into the scene on the right. In the Palm Spring area, many people have homes in communities where their backyards are famous private golf courses. But the community above right, as you can see, have their own private lake, no golf course, and they had of course nice boats.
After hiking in the heat, usually I start at around 3:30 pm, the temp is often around 93 F, I finnish around 7:00 pm, and the temp is around 85 F. Then I always cool off at pool.
I have moved a bit closer to the Grand Canyon, am now in Needles CA. Needles is a small city by the Colorado River. Click Here for more. Have been looking for doing some hikes from Needles. There does not appear to be any trails without doing some driving. So am going to make my own trails, bushwhacking from the RV resort. Since am hiking by myself, and in the heat, I like being near civilization so I can get my self out of trouble in case heat issues develop. Was kind of hoping that there would be trails along the Colorado River from town, but have not found any. The river is busy with lots of boaters.
Why hang out in Needles? My drivers license is about to expire, and in Palm Spring area it was going to take a wait of two weeks for an appointment with the Department of Motor Vehicles for the license renewal. Had been in the Palm Spring area for a month now, and didn't want to spend another two weeks there. So Needles is the last city in Calif on the way to the Grand Canyon. In fact, the borders of Arizona, and Nevada are within 10 miles from this RV resort here in Needles. Needles is very small hope to renew my license by next Wednesday, hope, hope.
