In front of Mendenhall Glacier near Juneau Alaska.
Hello from Alaska. As they say, time fly’s when you are having fun, of course am always having fun, but not quite like a cruise to Alaska followed by a land tour (train) in Alaska. Left on cruise ship from Vancouver Canada, to Ketchikan, to Icy Straight Point, to Juneau, to Skagway, to Hubbard Glacier, and to Seward. Then we traveled by bus for 4 hours to Anchorage, a great city to eat sea food. We stayed overnight, then we traveled by train this morning to Talkeetna, a very small village where we will take an excursion by plane to a fly-by of Mt McKinley. The weather was not cooperating at noon, but 4 hrs later the sky is clearing, and since it does not get dark till after 11:00 pm (sunset is at 10:54 pm) will go at 4:30 pm or later.
Need I say it, Alaska is awesomely beautiful. It appears to be and is rain forest. We have been very lucky, no rain during the cruise, it is not cold, and last night a little sprinkle. Tomorrow off to Denaly National Park. Well, am off to the Mt McKinley fly-by, seee yaaa.
