On the Road I will Be

Here we have Barry when we celebrated his 65th birthday with a Sunday brunch arranged by his girlfriend Melissa.
So who is Barry? Barry was my roommate for a quite a few years. We worked at the same company when I moved to the Bay area in 1986. I saw his kids grow up. Barry is the father of Cozy and Dax. See Cozy’s wedding on blog Aug 16.
Cozy and Ian, married 6 mo. Dax on the right.
Am now in Sunnyvale, CA. In a Trailer park, it is a little dive, but is geographically very convenient. Close to all my friends. Have not been on my bike for weeks so have lost all cycling condition that I had gained before the rains. But I have kept up my “adventure walks” with Vickie and Alice.
Little Alice is quite an athlete for a 4 yr old. For over a year she has been negotiating this monkey bars without help. And she can run, when we are out on the adventure walks, my exercise is to chase and catch her shadow. The only way I can catch her is to run after her till she tires out. I must be getting old !!!
Here is Cindy and Vickie on traditional friday eve card playing night. What game do they play? It is called “shithead”. Yep, I know, I know; Cindy learned it when she and Elaine went to climb Machu Picchu, Peru. You can learn more about it from the internet.
I don’t like playing games, so usually am on the computer, and listen in on their conversation which can be pretty funny at times. Others in the game are Scott and Andrew.
Finally, Vickie and Scott got their notice from China to come to pick-up their new adopted son, 2 yrs old, and will have Joseph as his American name. Alice has been expecting her new little brother for awhile. So, I will be house and dog sitting for Scott and Vickie in Mountain View, CA, till the end of the Mar. Then on the road I will be. Hopefully winter will be history then, since am heading to Northern Cal, Oregon and probably Washington, would like a little warmer weather and no rain. Why ? There are National Parks there to visit, I know is hard but some one has to do it.
