Last weekend Rouel makes friends with young ladies at the Chocolate Bar at Northstar Village. Northstar is between Truckee and Lake Tahoe California.
Also last weekend Rouel makes friends with Team Radio Shack at Northstar Village. Well not quite. But it was cool anyway. They, at the Radio Shack booth take a picture, then online they let you insert your photo in the middle of the team. So what is Team Radio Shack ? a professional bike team participating in the Amgen Tour de California. This team should do well in the Tour de France in Jul 2012 as it has famous and great US riders.
This year’s RV adventures is off to a very slow, slow start. OK, it has not started yet. But am ok with that, I can do what ever I want, when ever want. As I said above, am off to Sacramento, CA. To visit with brother Jack, except that he wont be there. He is leaving tonight to go visit my other siblings in the east coast, Atlanta GA, and Ft Lauderdale Fla. I will hang out in Sacramento for about 2 weeks. Intent to do lots of cycling, planing on 40 to 50 miles per day.
Sandra and Robert at the Ritz in Northstar. We went there 2 night in a row. Why ? Hospitality up to the ying yang. Have never been treated so well, but of course you pay for it, $$. And the chocolate martinis are ethereal.
Went to Northstar for the weekend with friends Sandra, Robert and Don. Was there to watch the finish of stage 1 of the Tour de California bike race. It was not to be, at the last minute the stage was canceled, why? snow. Apparently, it is still winter. Stage 2 was also canceled do to snow. The tour finally got under way with stage 3.
Have done some major revisions on my genealogy software. As you might remember, I have invested beaucoup hours this last two years creating my own genealogy software. Why ? It is one of my projects, I just didn't think it was going to take so long. Sort of evolved, at first it was going to be only for me and kind of simple. But then I saw that commercial and internet free genealogy didn't do what my simple project did, so on a whim decided to make it commercial product. And that became a time consuming effort. That is, in order to make it commercially viable, the software had to do what genealogist expect. Now it is history, though, will probably port it other languages. But I will not work on it exclusively. There are plenty of other Rouel fun things to do, that I have ignore way to long. Here is the website: https://sites.google.com/site/yourrelatives/
If you are family, and want a copy of the genealogy software with the current family data, send me email, will give you a download link. Tell me which OS, Windows, or MAC (OSX). Recently our cousin Leo in Holland, sent me some more family data for father’s side of the family. We now go back to the 1650’s and originating from Spain. So apparently both sides of our parent’s family originated in Spain. About 100 yrs earlier than that, Spain was a super power, and today it is what it is. That should be a lesson for us all. Super power one day and .... the next.
