... I Got To Stop Doing That.

Remember from the last blog, the puppy, here she is at 3 weeks old, enough said.
Before I left Sacramento, went out one last time on a bicycle ride. It was inspiring, it was also very hot, riding in Sacramento is no more till after summer, perhaps after fall. On the ride ran into 25 to 30 hand-cycling characters. Most were handicapped but not all. Talked to one resting by the bike path (I was resting too, way to hot for me), he was training for a time trial. So I asked, what’s your average speed during a race? He softly answered, “for the first hour I average around 19 mph, then have to slow down a little bit.” Wow, I said I cannot average 19 mph for an hour, maybe 15 minutes, maybe. That inspired me not to be a wimp. So I biked so more. I rode 20 miles to the American River, there is where I encountered the hand-cyclist. Then I rode about 12 miles on the bike path along the American River in Sacramento. Great, great bike path. Then 32 miles back and the heat just about killed me. It was around 95 deg when I got back to Jack’s place.
No it is not a bike crash, It is a hand-cycle recumbent. Never seen so many of them on a ride.
When it is hot people in Sacramento go on the river. That is what I should have done, instead of riding in the heat. It was inspiring, but the heat stressed my body. I have got to stop doing that.
Below are Vickie, Joseph, and Alice on the right at the table, just before we take off on an adventure walk, as it is our custom.
No, the snake is not at the table, Alice and I checked out the snake on our adventure walk as it crossed our path. Vickie took Joseph and quickly went the other way, does not like snakes. On the right Vickie gets the kids ready for the adventure walk on the Baylands levies.
