... Life Is Good.

This is my youngest niece, Cassandra Banda, left home in Los Angeles last month to go to college at UC Santa Cruz. Helped her move in the dorm. UC Santa Cruz is only about 45 miles from Mountain View, Ca. Can’t you see the family resemblance ? No, I can’t either, but she is almost as smart as me, maybe more.
As you can see am still hanging out in Mountain View Ca, just to hangout with friends. We bike, we hike, we speed walk, we celebrate birthdays, therefore, Life Is Good.
One or two blogs back said that I was going to explain about “urban RV’ing, which is what am doing now. Urban RV’ing is probably best described as dry camping, that is, no electric, water, or sewer hook ups, but doing it in a city, as oppose to doing it in a wilderness, which then would be called boondocking, usually also means no internet, nor phone access. In either case you must be near a legal RV dump station, to empty tanks, and refresh with drinking water.
Now, most cities in the US have laws specifying no sleeping in vehicles within city limits in public streets. Therefore, sleeping in a motorhome in public streets can result a citation, and being asked to move on in the middle of the night. After doing some investigation found a location here in the middle of Mountain View, where it seemed that other people were “urban RV’ing”. So told my self try it. Being doing it now for 5 weeks. This is a great location, it is by a park by the bay, where I did many running miles and biking in younger days.
Now urban RV’ing has rules, like make it look like like you are not camping there, just parked. Parking up to 72 hours is legal in most city public streets, in Mountain View then you must move at least 1000 feet, and can park again for 72 hrs. There are about six urban RV’ers here so about every 72 hours we move around. So each of us has a favorite spot, which we give up every 72 hours or so. The police know we are there, since they patrol the area day and night. Surely they can see lights and hear the generators at night when people are watching TV, or cooking. But they seem to leave us alone. To urban RV, you should select a location where nobody might complain. In a neighborhood, not a good a idea, RVs stick-out, and someone will notice after couple days of going in and out of the RV, call the police and game over. That is urban RV’ing. For me this location is great, am near my life long friends, can cross the street and am in the park walking or biking for miles and miles. Life is Good.
Walking in the park, just about a couple of 100 ft from my urban RV’ing location. I keep saying it, Life Is Good.
