In California, at least here in Northern Calif, there has been a push to ban plastic bags at grocery stores. City after city have banned the plastic bags. Environmentalists using alarmist tactics are succeeding in pushing the ban. But is it based on science ? The article above suggest that in the long term, this ban may not be wise. Maybe this is an example It seems to me, that laws and regulations are usually enacted to provide benefits to humans and/or the environment; however, in these times, regulations seem to be enacted that result in the opposite. It seems that a minority of paradoxically anti-science thinkers are gaining power and effecting anti human and environment regulations. If this continues is there a tipping point for disaster to our planet ?

Anti-science in the US Congress ? Read This.

Do you watch a lot of TV ? Just finished reading that TV watching after age 25 can shorten your life, actually watching TV is not the problem, the problem appears to be the sitting part associated with watching TV. .... “And the findings were sobering: Every single hour of television watched after the age of 25 reduces the viewer’s life expectancy by 21.8 minutes.” Read this article, or not. So lets “Get Up. Get Out. Don’t Sit.” This figures as follows: For every 100 hrs of sitting can reduce life expectancy by 1.5 days. Go ahead and figure out how much time you are spending sitting around per day, and lets reduce the sitting time and do something else. Probably should only count long periods of sitting, maybe 30 min and longer. I spend a lot time sitting, many, many hours per day. I have been sitting since 2 am, 5 hrs, I guess I better change that.

Hanging out with friends, on the right Vickie and the kids watching Kung Fu Panda. Currently hanging with friends seems more important that being on the road. But soon I must .....

Maybe not important, I have removed some of the pages at the top, because the links on those pages are broken. And since nobody has complained in the last 6 month, perhaps no one was trying to go there.
