“Ay Caramba” Moments
Tuesday, February 21, 2012
Am out doing an adventure walk with my girls, Cindy, Vickie and Sandra. We only did 12 miles, 3.5 hrs. How do I know ? Why GPS of course, never go out without it. When I forget it, it is an “ay caramba” moment.
A month since last blog, “ay caramba”. Friend Bob pinged me about not blogging in a timely fashion. He is right of course. So what is going on in my world, nothing much. I have succumbed to my excessive compulsive nature, and spent mega hours (~ 300 in 4 weeks) updating my genealogy software, Your Relatives, new features not yet published. Added numerous features that were time consuming to implement, but now am done with that for a while; though now have to update the manuals so that people can figure out how to use the new features. And that is going to take about 6 more hours, “ay caramba”.
So what what else, have been having some fun too doing adventure walks. Walking about 32 mi a week. The other day Vickie and I went out for a 10.5 miler, but when we were done the GPS said 16.9 miles, just under 5 hrs. Didn't have the right shoes for it, so now I have 2 black toe nails, 1 on each foot, “ay caramba”. The things we do for fun sometimes hurt.
I also take time to read the paper. When I find something interesting, well, interesting to me, I take a picture of it. Here is one:
The Last known veteran of World War I, Florence Green, dies two weeks before her 111th birthday, ay caramba, would have been nice if she had made her 111th B-Day.
Here is another: The New Mexico State University’s Chile Pepper Institute identifies the hottest pepper on Earth. Take a bite of this and you surely say, “ay caramba”, and if you can maybe a few other explicatives. A Chile Pepper Institute ? I guess the world needs more institutes.
On or about 5 Mar, will be off to visit bro Jack in Sacramento. Will blog from there next.
