I remember buying my college textbooks, around $130 for 4 textbooks at the beginning of the school year, and 1 or two of them was good for 3 quarters. Physics, Chemistry, and Calculus were good for 3 quarters. And now it is around $1200. Bad, bad, bad.
And we have public schools allowed to teaching Creationism ? In my opinion, bad, bad, bad.
In a couple of weeks or so heading out on the road. Last blog said I would head to the desert. So have decided to go to Quartzsite AZ. Quartzsite is small town in the dessert about 20 miles east of the California and Arizona border, on hwy 10. The population of Quartzsite is around 3000; but not in the winter, in Jan and Feb, the population swells to way over 500,000. Lets say 497,000 RV’ers. These are so called snowbirders, people in Fla have always know them as I saw them when in high school there in south Fla. Now I am one of them, but going to Quartzsite AZ. Here is someone’s YouTube video.
Exactly how am getting there and when I get there is not quite clear. Going to Sacramento first, I think. Going there to pickup my 1099s so I can do my taxes. Then head to Yosemite and or Pinnacle National Parks ?, then to Los Angeles and San Diego ? then Quartzsite via Palm Springs !!! The beauty is that I don't have to decide, one morning I will get up and ask “myself” what am going to do today ? Answer, I know, I will head out, and off on the road I go. Then send an email to my friends to let them know that am off on the road. But not today, today the answer to the question was, am gonna get a hot chocolate, read the paper at a nearby Starbucks, then a bike ride or a hike with friends. ... All is well.
