Kauai, Hawaii Truly A Paradise !!!

Did a hike in Kauai. Holy cows, this hike was the most difficult hike I have ever done. It was only 8 mi. The trail was strenuous, but what made it really difficult for me, was not taking enough water and it was hot. Dehydration on a hike is mean on the body. I should know better, will never let that happen again. The trail we did was the Kalalau Trail to Hanakapiai Falls, click here if you want to know more.
In Kauai for a wedding, my nephew Martin, marrying a beautiful young lady, Lacey, from Hawaii. They both live in Los Angeles. And of course she has tons of family in Hawaii.
Does it rain in Kauai ? Yep, everyday, sometimes for a few minutes, sometimes for many hours. And I guess it also depends where you are.
No rain during the hike, but it rained the night before, so the trail was very wet, muddy, and slippery. Hiked with Denise, a most excellent hiker. She took good care of me, gave me her water, as my body struggled with dehydration.
The view from about a mile into the hike. Some day will have to do a longer hike on the Kalalau Trail, at least to the point after which a permit is required, about 6 mi in. The Hanakapiai waterfall, worth it !!!
