The Invite:

Hi Alumni,

The Cal State L.A. Dept. of Physics and Astronomy along with the Board of our Alumni Group invite you to the third annual Alumni Group lecture and dinner to be held on March 15 at Cal State LA. The lecture will start at 6:00 PM to be followed by dinner at 7:30 PM. The speaker will be Dr. Linda Spilker of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, an M.S. graduate from our department, who is the lead scientist on the highly successful Cassini Project which explored the planet Saturn, its rings, and its extremely interesting moons. As was the case last year, alumni, faculty, emeriti faculty and students will be invited to attend as well. We will ...............

Sincerely,

Marty Epstein and Bill Taylor

A stroll thru campus:

The CSULA of today is not the CSULA of our younger days (~40 yrs back). I walked around campus, there were not many buildings I recognized. Google Map

Recognized: The empty Physical Science Building. In process of being demolished ?

Recognized: The Student Health Center.

Recognized: The Administration Bldg.

Recognized: The JFK Library.

Not CSULA I remember:  “One” of the food courts. .... Of course there is even a Starbucks.
